My name is Sigal Madmony born in 1967 in Israel. I began painting at the age of 18 and later studied at the Academy of Art. In the early 1990s, I made the decision to make Amsterdam my home, where I ran the downtown gallery of Herman Brood. That’s truly where it all began—access to the art world became easy and natural. After several years of traveling around the world, each place left a unique mark on me, offering deep inspiration and strength. Today, painting is my entire world. Painting, to me, is the art of working on a surface with color—creating lines, stains, and forms using a variety of techniques. I often incorporate natural elements such as sand, leaves and more, adding texture and depth to the work. These materials help create the illusion of movement, volume, and emotion. Through painting, I express my feelings, ideas, fantasies, and worldview. An important part of my life is volunteering. It’s a powerful way to support meaningful causes, connect with communities, and experience life from different perspectives. It’s also a creative journey—challenging, emotional, and incredibly rewarding. Seeing the pure joy on the faces of the people—especially children—who participate, has been unforgettable. Every moment has been filled with warmth, connection and growth.
